MAB 103 Alfa Laval Lube Oil Purifier is a high-speed disc stack centrifuge designed for purification or clarification of oils such as fuel oils, engine oils, lubricating oils, mineral oils, biodiesel, and waste vegetable oil.

The MAB 103 is capable of handling large oil volumes, with capacity determined by liquid temperature and viscosity. It features a feed/release pump with fittings for preheated oil lines, ensuring efficient purification.

How does Alfa Laval MAB 103 Work?

The MAB 103 uses centrifugal force to separate liquids and solids. The rotating bowl spins at high speed to retain solids and separate liquids. Contaminated oil is fed into the center of the bowl. But it has dual functionality, it can be used for Purification or Clarification depending upon the material needed to be cleaned.

1. Purification Mode

It uses Three- Phase Separation Method and it is used to separate oil, water and sludge

Process:
Contaminated oil enters the center of the solid-retaining bowl. Centrifugal force separates the oil into three distinct phases. Heavy Phase: Water and sludge are pushed toward the outer edge of the bowl. Light Phase: Clean oil remains near the center and is discharged through a separate outlet, used when oil contains a high amount of water and solids.

      2. Clarification Mode

Process:
The oil is fed into the bowl, and centrifugal force separates solid contaminants. Sludge is the solid phase which is pushed to the perimeter & Clean oil is discharged through a separate outlet. Its ideal when oil needs to be purified from solids only or contains minimal water.
The system separates the liquids into distinct phases based on density.
