MOPX 209
Alfa Laval MOPX 209 is completely reconditioned oil separator. It is fully automatic with a stainless steel bowl and an aluminum body. Centrifugal Force is applied to separate the fine solids and other impurities from the oil.
MOPX Separator – How it works?
MOPX Separation systems are built for periodic automated operations in engine rooms of ships or power plants. This system can be used in single, parallel or in series. The separator must be used as a purifier if only one system is installed for purification and cleaning of marine diesel oil and lubricating oil.
If more than one MOPX separation systems are installed in engine rooms or at power plants for cleaning of heavy fuel oil then the system should be operated in series. In such instances the first separator should be used as a purifier and second should be used as a clarifier.
Alfa Laval Lube Oil Separator separates water and other impurities from the oil. When acts as purifier the water is continuously discharged from the bowl and when act as a clarifier the water outlet is blocked hence there is limited water handling capacity. MOPX separator uses EPC-41 control unit, this automatic control system controls the water pumped in separator and discharge of oil before the discharge of sludge.
EPC-41 control unit provides alarm functions for:
- Broken water seal
- Low oil pressure
- High back pressure
- Power failure
- Other errors

Uses / Applications:
- Mainly used on ships in engine rooms. Oil stored on ships in bulk may be contaminated; usage of such oil may cause engine breakdown. Hence purification of impurities from the oil is necessary.

- Used in milk dairies & beverage industries.
- Used in power stations for purifications of heavy fuel oil.
