Alfa Laval FOPX 605 Oil Separator removes water and solid sludge from various contaminated oils. It can be used to filter solids and liquids, and can be used for clarification or purification methods.

The “FOPX” designation indicates a fully automatic purifier/separator within the “600” series, built for reliable continuous operation with automatic interface control and solids management.

It uses a stack of thin stainless-steel discs rotating at high speed to create a strong centrifugal force that separates heavier water and solids from lighter oil based on density differences, so it can work continuously in marine and industrial systems.

The FOPX 605 Alfa Laval Separator is a centrifugal separator used to separate hard particles and similar solid substances from liquids and mineral oil.

Separation can serve the following purposes:

• To remove a liquid containing solid particles
• To separate two mutually insoluble fluids, Different densities are used when removing solids present at the same time
• To separate and concentrate solid particles from a liquid

Separating Functions

The unseparated oil enters the rotating bowl through the inlet pipe and is accelerated by the distributor. As the oil passes through the distributor slots, it is evenly distributed into the disc stack. Under the high centrifugal force generated by the rotating bowl, heavier contaminants such as water and solids move outward toward the bowl periphery, while the lighter cleaned oil flows inward and is discharged continuously.
