Alfa Laval MMB 305 Oil Separator is mainly used for oil recycling/refining process in power plants and marine ships. It is perfectly suitable for marine diesel oil, biodiesel, lubricating oils, distillates, and hydraulic oils.
MMB 305 has different throughput capacities for different types of oil since it varies depending upon the viscosity of the oil and temperature.
Following are expected throughput capacities:
- Diesel oil: 1030 g/h
- Biodiesel: 1030 g/h
- Lubricating oil: 476 g/h
- Distillate: 1242 g/h
- Hydraulic oil: 1030 g/h
There are four frame parts of the MMB purifier as below:
- Top Frame
- Intermediate Frame
- Lower Frame
- Frame Hood
The purifier is driven by 440 volts, 60Hz 3 phase electric motor which uses friction coupling and flat belt to rotate the vertical drive shaft. The bowl is mounted on a vertical drive shaft placed in the top part of the frame. The frame hood is designed in such a way that it can be easily removed for cleaning of the bowl.
How Does It Work?
The process of clarification or purification (you can arrange it as per requirement) takes place in a rotating bowl. The feed pump continuously feeds the impure oil into the rotating bowl of the purifier.
The rotating bowl creates a centrifugal force by the help of which impure oil is divided into different phases i.e. sludge, water, and oil. The sludge phase is easily removed with the help of a stainless-steel basket. The clean oil is pumped through the built-in pump and water comes out from the open outlet.
MMB 305 Alfa Laval Centrifuge Benefits:
- It is compact in design and requires very less space
- It has inbuilt pressurized oil discharge system
- Requires low-cost maintenance
- It has large er capacity of sludge storage
