The MSPX 303 is a high-speed disc-stack Alfa Laval Separator designed for efficient purification and separation of impure oils containing water, sludge, and other solid contaminants.
The MSPX 303 operates on the principle of centrifugal separation, using a disc-stack bowl to efficiently divide oil, water, and solids into separate phases.
This model features an automated discharge mechanism for accumulated sludge via openings in the bowl wall as well as continuous discharge of separated oil and water.
Its robust construction, corrosion-resistant materials, and precision-balanced assembly ensure reliable, long-term operation even under demanding marine-yard conditions.
Alfa Laval MSPX 303 Applications
- Marine Engine: Used aboard ships to treat main and auxiliary engine oils under variable sea conditions.
- Power generation: Purifies turbine and generator lubricating oils for improved reliability.
- Fuel treatment: MSPX 303 Alfa Laval fuel separator used for cleaning distillate and residual fuels before combustion in engines or boilers.
- Industrial equipment: Removes moisture and particles from hydraulic and gear oils in compressors, pumps, and other equipment.
Key Features of MSPX 303
- Self-cleaning design: Automatic discharge of sludge maintains continuous throughput with minimal manual cleaning.
- Triple outlet design: Independent discharge for clean oil, separated water, and sludge ensures precise phase separation.
- High rotation speed: Bowl speed of 9,305 r/min ensures efficient separation of solids and liquids.
- Compact & Durable constructions: Built with high-quality, corrosion-resistant materials for long life in harsh marine and industrial environments.
- Control system: Integrated with the EPC-41 controller for automated operation (start-up sequencing and protection).
