Alfa Laval MOPX 210 Oil Purifier
MOPX 210 is a high-speed centrifugal Alfa Laval separator designed for both marine and land applications. It is designed to remove mineral oils from water or solid particles (sludge). The oil is continuously discharged, while the sludge is at intervals.
You can use the MOPX 210 separator as either a purifier or as a clarifier. The separator can be used as a purifier to continuously discharge the separated water.
Alfa Laval MOPX 210 separator can be used as a clarifier if the oil has very little water. It will discharge the water along with the solid particles.
It is necessary to install the separator together with control devices. You can order it with an integrated pump to supply oil inlet feed.
The MOPX series is the Second Generation of Auto Desludge/Discharge Centrifuges. It has a better bowl geometry and improved metallurgy for various bowl components. This unit can be used as total desludging. – able to handle moderate levels of solid contamination. Application in LO, Diesel, HFO & industrial fluids.
Clarification:
Separating liquid and solid particles from liquids with the intent of separating them from liquids that have a lower density than the particles.
Purification:
Separating liquid and solid liquids with the goal of separating two interrelated, mutually insoluble liquid phases. Solids with a higher density can be separated from the liquids simultaneously. The major component of the mixture is the liquid phase.

Separation can serve the following purposes:
- To free a liquid from solid particles;
- To separate two mutually insoluble fluids with different densities while removing any remaining solids,
- To separate and concentrate solid particles from the liquid.
